Stephanie Dresti is excited to begin her fourth year as Oak Crest's Learning Commons Technician. Mrs. Dresti grew up in San Jose, California. She was the first in her family to attend college, earning her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California at Berkeley. She has since earned her Single Subject Teaching Credential in English and a Masters of Education in Teacher Leadership.
Prior to joining the Oak Crest team, she spent nine years teaching (mostly 12th-grade) high school English at High Tech High International in San Diego, Leland High School in San Jose, and Liceo Scientifico Statale Galileo Ferraris in Torino, Italy. After noticing significant literacy gaps in each incoming group of 12th-grade students, she decided to take the opportunity to work with middle school students in what she believes is the heart of the school: the "Learning Commons." She hopes to work with students to revive and cultivate a love for storytelling, deep thinking, and the pursuit of individual curiosities. She loves to play "book-matcher" with students who are looking for the just the right book to stir their imaginations.
Mrs. Dresti loves to read (of course!). She also loves traveling, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
